Hell Hath no Fury in Episode Two of the Series “Scandal”

This week’s “Scandal” begins with an irresponsible 27 year old boy, Travis Harding, the rich son of millionaire Sandra Harding being charged with rape. Sandra solicits Olivia to be a back up attorney in the case for her son, so Olivia goes to work trying to get some dirt on the prosecutor, David, but doesn’t have much luck.

Helen Fisher, a supposed very good person but heavily in debt, is the victim. Olivia tells Sandra she thinks they should settle the case to keep Helen from being a witness against her son. They offer 9 million but it is turned down.  Quinn is concerned that they will lose the case, but Olivia reminds them there is another way.

The plot thickens as Travis is found to have paid off another victim in the past, a 23 year old named Rachel, who committed suicide.  There was a rape kit in the case that has Travis’ DNA all over it. Interestingly, her body was found by her best friend, Helen Fisher, his new rape victim.

Travis tells his mother he did make a mistake, but says he handled it. Travis’ attorney gets the best of Helen in the courtroom. Travis is going to get by with yet another rape as Olivia consoles Sandra, a mother that blames herself for her son’s indiscretions. Continue reading

ABC’s “Castle” Boasting 4th Season Hit

It’s obvious that something is going on between Beckett and Castle, but Beckett knows that something is wrong when Castle is pulling back. Lanie finally pulls it out of Beckett that she is crazy about Castle and says she should tell him so.  However, Beckett knows they have a murder to work on and can’t be focusing on anything else. Lanie tells her that is always the case, but there are bigger problems at hand since Castle just returned from a rendezvous in Vegas with a gorgeous flight attendant.

The show flashes back to a dead woman lying on a bed inside a hotel room.  An unknown man takes something from inside her jacket, gives her a kiss on the cheek, and then leaves passing a chamber maid on his way out.

Back to the present, it is revealed that the young woman found dead was Naomi Allen, a young British model that had been booking gigs with extremely rich men. The last event she attended was a huge party for the launch of a new album.  Beckett is convinced this is where she met the person who murdered her.

The forensic people are all over it trying to pick up any shred of evidence that may help zero in on the killer.  They find a fingerprint while dusting for prints at the victim’s apartment, a match with the prime suspect. As luck would have it, Beckett runs upon the man just getting out of the shower at a hotel room. She immediately springs into action, ordering him to stick his hands in the air, when his towel drops to the floor. Castle tries to keep Beckett from seeing as he quickly covers her eyes, but she was determined to cop a peek at the good-looking naked suspect.  She recognizes him as Detective Hunt from Scotland Yard. ROFL with the ABC Hit “Modern Family”

Everyone loves the rib-crushing laughs from the ABC hit and award winning “Modern Family.” Winner of Outstanding Comedy Series for two years in a row and eleven Emmy Awards, the humor just keeps on rolling throughout season three. It’s hilarious!

The latest episode, “Send Out the Clowns,” is no different as it brings down the house in a scene where reality sets in when a clown dies. Cameron, in his normal Fizbo outfit, goes to the funeral of his mentor. Although strange to see so many white-faced harlequins in sad mode, Cam’s clown partner from sometime before, Lewis, was able to handle it. Lewis remains bitter over Cam dismantling the team.

The two decide to bury the hatchet as they finally make up over some drinks. They both know that they always made the funniest clown team ever.  It’s precisely why they decided to get another gig together for a kiddie party. While it only supposed to be a one time event, Lewis was not aware of that fact and he beats Cameron with a frying pan at the show filling the kids with laughter.  It wasn’t funny to Cam. “Walking Papers” Part II – “Celebrity Apprentice”

Part two of the double header contest last week starts with Dee visiting some parents in the hospital who have a premature baby. He explains that he too, had two premies and has supported the March of Dimes ever since. He is emotional as he gets to present the men’s $325,000 winnings of the guidebook sales and victory over the women to the March of Dimes representative.

A twist this week came when Trump switched up the teams since the women have lost five of 7 tasks. The new teams are Teresa, Aubrey, Arsenio, Clay, and Paul as Unanimous. The Forte team will consist of Lou, Penn, Dayana, Lisa, and Dee. The new task is to develop a live and interactive health ad that will promote the “Work for Walgreens” program that gives rewards for tracking walking activity online.

Lou steps up as project manager for Forte and Arsenio volunteers for Unanimous. Lisa is still not happy as she dreads working with Lou and Dayana. As Unanimous starts to plan, Clay is worried about having Aubrey on the team as she immediately tries to lead, But Arsenio tries to keep the peace. Forte comes up with the idea that you can walk while doing other things and Lisa buys in as she considers Penn a valuable member of “HER” team. Penn gets the tasks assigned as he must leave for 24 hours and naturally, Lisa feels like she is left to babysit. Unanimous settles on a game show idea as Aubrey is trying to rub Arsenio the wrong way, but the team heads to Walgreens to make photos to use on the kit titled “Face Reality.” Continue reading

“Celebrity Apprentice”, ‘Walking Papers’ Episode Part I

The last episode of the Trump empire show began with Aubrey and Dayana returning to the suite. Patricia got the axe this week and the women continue to fight instead of pulling together as a team. On the men’s side, Clay visits his charity, the National Inclusion Project, and offers up the winnings of $50,000.

The teams gather in the lobby for their assignment from Trump.  They are challenged to create a NEW York Guidebook and use a Toshiba tablet to write and design it.  Teresa takes the reigns for the women, noting they need strong leadership for a team with low morale. Dee steps up for the men.  Toshiba is offering a bonus prize to the winner.

Teresa tasks the team with making calls for the fundraiser. Dayana throws out ideas as always, Debbie and Lisa work well together. Aubrey is frustrated with Teresa and Dayana. Dee focuses on the money more than the guidebook. They head to the roof to shoot Manhattan scenes at Penn’s suggestion.

Lisa and Debbie return to work with the graphic designer. Lisa is mad at the other three because they are late getting back. Debbie is upset that no one was tasked with the kiosk they need to sell the book. Debbie and Aubrey head out to shop for the kiosk items, and Teresa thinks they are setting her up. Continue reading

Colton Dixon From “American Idol” Is A Postive Role Model For Kids

In an environment where cursing and swearing can be as common as breathing, it can be refreshing to find individuals that like to “keep it clean”. Since blogs, tweets and status updates on sites like Facebook have all contained comments on the rudeness of today’s youth, on everything from speech to behavior, Colton Dixon stands out for his manners.

20 year old Colton Dixon, now in the top eight contestants on season eleven of “American Idol”, states that he does not choose to cuss because his parents taught him not to. Since he hails from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, maybe it’s just the cultural norm there?

What did he have to say about being in an environment where everyone around him seems to curse a lot? He said it doesn’t really bother him to be around it. For his part, Dixon is proud of the fact that he doesn’t use cursing in his speech. He said that his clean speech can be used as a way to set a good example for others. Since this young man is in front of millions, trying to make his dreams come true, he has a point. In addition to Dixon’s no cussing rule, he doesn’t have a reputation as a “trouble-maker”. His public image is spotless. Continue reading

Summer 2012 Season Premieres Coming Soon

ABC is premiering its summer lineup, soon. With stiff competition from Fox’s “American Idol”, ABC is premiering its show “Duets” with a two-hour season opener, on Thursday, May 24, 2012. The show will air from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the night after American Idol’s season conclusion. “Duets” might get a bigger break with viewer ratings than hoped for, if “American Idol” producers decide not to renew next season, as rumors indicate.  “Duets” will offer talent from all over the US, with the combined talents of Jennifer Nettles, Lionel Ritchie, Kelly Clarkson and Robin Thicke to help in the search. Each singer is to perform his or her own search separately and independently.

“Duets” offers the viewer and its contestants a unique twist from other reality singing shows. When these renowned singers find the talent they are looking for, they will pick two individuals to act as protégés. Each individual will be evaluated on weekly performances. One individual will be eliminated, leaving the lucky winner with a hit single at the top of the charts, memories and experiences that could last a lifetime, and a recording contract through Hollywood Records.

This approach differs in comparison to other hit series like “American Idol” and “The Voice” because it offers a chance for world-renowned singers to work with normal, every-day people. The one-on-one attention and approach from such accomplished singing talents is sure to be of greater benefit for aspiring singers/songwriters than the current status quo of being judged by three judges and a viewer audience, solely.
